Decisions shape our lives. Every small decision we make or do not make has the potential to change our lives forever. Some decisions are easy for us, others cost us overcoming. No one can relieve the burden of decision-making process from the other. As a peer counsellor in the EUTB of Charter 22, I am happy to help disabled people to do it by themselves.

To advocate for a full, self-determined and equal participation of all people in society is a personal concern of mine. Empowering disabled people to lead a decent, independent and self-determined life is the goal of my peer counselling work in the EUTB of Charter 22. What is particularly important to me is an encounter at eye level.

A human being needs human beings. We are stronger when someone is by our side and believes in us. Nothing can strengthen a person more than the trust you place in them. Sometimes even a single sincere word can give you stability in the storm. The ESF+ project „Bavaria Needs You“ of Charter 22 provides daily evidence of the correctness of my view.

Charter 22 is my heart, passion, conviction, knowledge and hope for the future. It has been shaped by valuable human beings whom we advise, educate and empower every single day, by their moving personal stories of courage, strength and self-determination, as well as by my own unwavering lifelong commitment to human dignity, freedom, equality, fraternity, truth and justice. I deeply believe that values cannot be taught; they can be only exemplified. Exemplifying kindness, respect, tolerance, appreciation and understanding in everyday life is not only the crucial way but also the only way to convey values to others. With Charter 22, I want to give powerless people with a migration background, a refugee experience or a disability, regardless of their gender or where they come from or what they believe in, a face and a voice in our societies. Because I am firmly convinced that every human being is born free and equal in dignity and rights as well as is unique, equally worth, important; we are all different, but nevertheless we all belong to quite naturally. Knowledge is power and power is knowledge. With this wonderful team of inspiring, highly educated, professionally experienced and strongly committed fellow human beings and the carried out valuable, socially innovative, charitable projects, I have no doubt that Charter 22 has a sustainable, exciting, precious and successful future ahead.
